So because my stroke was hormonal birth control I have been gun shy of anything hormonal. After 17 years and going to 2 different hematologists to make sure it's the right hormone for me, I finally agreed to switch. So I practice what I preach, educate yourself about anything you feel uncomfortable about until you are ready! (I have been talking to people about birth control, but I wasn't ready.)
So I talk a lot about my birth control side effect. Although my side effect was uncommon, these are common side effects: Intermenstrual spotting . ... Nausea . ... Breast tenderness. ... Headaches . ... Weight gain. ... Mood changes . ... Missed periods. ... Decreased libido.
